Coco Husk Chips Block

SABOOT™ Coco Husk Chips are a coarse, durable growing medium that resists compaction and keeps the root zone open over extended cultivation periods. As a coco husk chips supplier in Indonesia, Arunika Natura provides chips whose naturally porous structure supports efficient drainage and oxygen availability at the roots.

Favored by orchid growers, greenhouse enterprises, and professional horticultural producers, coco husk chips offer a reliable balance between moisture retention and air-filled porosity, helping maintain stable plant growth and reducing the risk of substrate degradation over long production cycles.

How to Use SABOOT Coco Husk Chips

  1. Place the block in a clean container large enough for the chips to expand.
  2. Add clean water gradually until the block is fully hydrated and the chips separate easily.
  3. Loosen the chips by hand and let any excess water drain.
  4. Test the EC and pH of the runoff, then follow your crop’s nutrient program.
  5. Use the chips on their own or blend them with other substrates, then fill pots, beds, or growing containers.

Coco Husk Chips FAQ

How do coco husk chips differ from cocopeat?

Coco husk chips are coarse and airy, so they drain quickly and keep more air around the roots. Cocopeat is finer and holds more water, and many growers blend the two to tune how much water the mix retains. If you plan to blend, see our Low EC Cocopeat Block and High EC Cocopeat Block pages.

Why are coco husk chips supplied as compressed blocks?

A compressed block takes up much less space in storage and shipping, then expands into loose chips once hydrated, so you handle less volume until the material is needed.

Do coco husk chips need to be rinsed before use?

That depends on your crop and cultivation method. Compare the EC listed in the specification above with your crop’s target, then test the runoff EC and pH after hydration. If the readings fall outside your range, rinse with clean water. Our team can advise on a suitable approach for your application.
